- KAFO Dynamic Knee

Spasticity from a Cerebral Origin, CP – Pediatric

Clinical Problem:  Hamstring spasticity
(quadriplegia, diplegia)

Ultraflex Solution:  Custom Molded KAFO (dynamic
knee component, solid ankle or rom stop joint)  

Clinical Goal:  Conservatively maintain and increase muscle length of hamstring (and gastroc-soleus); delay hamstring lengthening surgery, complement multi-level Botulinim Toxin A.

Evaluation/Casting:  Flex knee, correct and cast ankle to neutral in all planes.   Read more on Casting Considerations

Pediatric: < 25 kg (no donning lock desired)

Add AFO P ROM T (X2) if articulated ankle required

Adolescent:

Power Unit KO P# depending on patient weight (P1>50 kg, P3>25 kg, P5 <25 kg) (Lateral side)
